My Raisina Dialogue Experience 2024
Raisina Dialogue is India’s flagship international conference on geopolitics and geoeconomics , In this post i share my reflections on 2024 Raisina Dialogue
I have just returned home after attending the #RaisinaDialogue2024 as a young leader and technology diplomat. I was amazed by the intersection of philosophy, people interactions, internet connectivity, and democracies that I witnessed at the event. I also reflected on how the theme of Chaturanga: Conflict, Contest, Cooperate, Create, captured the diverse elements of the strategic knowledge sets and networks of people in open dialogue, based on facts, people-centered progress, and genuine will and passion for global diplomacy and stronger multilateral relations.
Quoting Prime Minister Modi, "It is not the mind that is the problem, mindset is." As a nation, India is shaping a mindset shift for a new, more integrated, collaborative spirit. Being the world's largest democracy, the source of its strength is its dyanmic wonderful people. A culture of warmth and cooperative innovation
The mindset of the Raisina Dialogue 2024 was geared towards its value proposition with thought schools on the geo-technology impacts among superpowers, the semiconductor wars, and conflicts in international IP (Intellectual Property). This sparked my prism of thought on how digital diplomacy and internet governance are crucial.
With over 5 billion connected devices, the internet is a manifestation of an open, interoperable, and accessible form of democracy with its netizens. But behind devices, people exist and we are not immune to the challenges faced. Hence, the values of dialogue, global solidarity, and development in a more polarized world are essential. Multilateralism and international alliances are fundamental, building bridges and cooperation in the multi-stakeholder domain of people-centered democracies that deliver. India is an exemplary power to reckon with.
As the Hon. January Makamba (Tanzanias Minister of Foreign Affairs) emphasized in his remarks at the dialogue, there are no Western values nor Eastern values, rather mutual values and interests based on strong consensus and alliances, such as those fostered between Tanzania and India.
The dialogue drew a change in shaping new perspectives on policy formulation, digital diplomacy, and the importance of friendships, as it is an imprinted knowledge base that is embedded. As Chaturanga is a symphony of many people making music, this year's Raisina Dialogue 2024 has set a strong foundation for a global symphony of cooperation and creation among nations in technology, trade, and knowledge as one.
If I leave with one reflection, it is the term ancestral intelligence. We are unified by our ancestors and shared history, and it is through these collaborative institutions and mutual alliances that we can move further, stronger together.
